Notes:  Rates shown are on a per-person per-month basis.  Premium rates are subject to regulatory review and approval. Only Medicare Supplement and Dental Plan rates are based on age. Rx and PFFS plans are community-rated and premiums do not vary by age. Medicare Part D rates do not include CMS Late Enrollment penalty or low income subsidy adjustments. These rates also do not reflect any subsidy payments that your institution may make on your behalf for Emeriti insurance premiums.

Aetna provides comprehensive coverage, including medical, Rx and dental benefits to institutions in 48 states and D.C. Aetna also provides stand-alone Rx coverage and companion dental coverage to institutions in all 50 states and D.C. HealthPartners provides comprehensive coverage (medical and Rx) and dental benefits for institutions in Minnesota.  Emeriti will select a New Mexico provider.

Pre-65 coverage is available for the eligible dependents of Emeriti -insured post-65 retirees at any institution sponsoring an Emeriti Plan. It is also available for eligible pre-65 retirees and their eligible pre-65 dependents at institutions that have adopted pre-65 retiree coverage. Eligible dependents are defined as a spouse (or domestic partner if the institution’s plan permits) and dependent children until majority. (Pre-65 coverage is not available for Minnesota residents of Minnesota institutions.)

The Rx Mid-High Plan underwritten by Aetna is available to all participants in 2009.  Beginning in 2010, that plan will be closed, except to those who are already enrolled in it during 2009. If you are in that plan for 2009, you will be able to stay in it for 2010 or choose one of the other available plans.

For Minnesota Residents: If you are retired from a Minnesota institution AND live in Minnesota, your post-65 choices are HealthPartners I and II (both with medical and Rx coverage), with HealthPartners Dental as an additional benefit; or Aetna Rx Low Plan as a stand-alone plan, with Aetna Dental as an additional coverage. If you retired from an institution that is NOT in Minnesota, your insurance options are Aetna medical, Rx, dental and pre-65 options.
