If you are a retiree of an Emeriti Program member institution and have met the eligibility requirements under your institution's Plan, you may elect one of the Emeriti Health Insurance Plan Options during a one-time, 90-day eligibility window. If you don't enroll yourself and your eligible dependents during this 90-day period, you will not be able to enroll later, unless you or your eligible dependents experience certain life events. Call an Emeriti Specialist at 1-866-EMERITI (1-866-363-7484) if you have further questions.
Checklist:
Do you need to submit a qualified medical expense (QME) for reimbursement? All you need to do is fill out a QME Claim Form and return it along with the bill documenting the expense to FBD Consulting at the address on the form. You will be reimbursed for eligible expenses out of your Health Account assets (you will need to make sure there are enough funds in your Health Accounts to cover these payments). Read more about using the Emeriti Reimbursement Benefit; or, if you still have questions, call 1-866-EMERITI and an Emeriti Specialist will assist you.
Do you want to continue making contributions to your Emeriti Health Account in retirement? If your Plan offers voluntary contributions (check the Your Plan Highlights sheet or ask your benefits office), you can set up automated contributions from your bank account by calling 1-866-EMERITI. This allows you to supplement a diminishing balance in your Emeriti Health Accounts in order to pay for the Emeriti Health Insurance Plan Option premiums. (Depending on your plan, and if you haven't exceeded limits, you may be allowed to contribute a lump sum on a quarterly basis. Minimum lump sum contribution is $250.)
Do you want to change your Emeriti Health Insurance Plan Option election? You may do this once a year, during your institution's annual open enrollment period. Contact your benefits office to find out when your next open enrollment period will be, and at that time you can change your Health Insurance Plan Option by calling 1-866-EMERITI.
